United Methodist Women (UMW)

The organized unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in he global ministries of the church.

United Methodist Women are a faith-based membership organization of lay women within The United Methodist Church. Members are organized for mission and are committed to growing as disciples of Jesus Christ in the community with other women, and building the lives of women, children and youth.

United Methodist Women has been in mission for more than 145 years.  United Methodist Women are specifically charged to support ministry with, and advocate for, the oppressed and disposed with special attention to the needs of women, children and youth (The Book of Discipline of The United Methodist Church 2012, Par. 1319).

The national office provides resources and opportunities for members to grow spiritually, develop as leaders and serve to work in improving the lives of women, children and youth nationally and internationally.

The local unit meets on the third Wednesday of every month.  Please come and join us!  You will be glad to did!
